About the Project
This project is an interactive digital mapping initiative that documents the journeys of Ukrainians who have been displaced after Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Through personal stories, memories, and spatial narratives, this project explores displacement as a multidirectional and multiscalar experience.
Using an interactive map, participants can tell their own migration stories by adding cities in sequence and sharing their memories about each place. These stories help create a collective archive of transnational migration experiences that maps personal trajectories across time and space.
The project combines digital storytelling, participatory mapping, and migration research. It aims to better understand how people experience displacement, resilience, and agency in times of crisis, while also creating a public-facing resource that helps visualize the diversity and complexity of displacement across local, national, and regional boundaries.
